TRIPS

Trips to Guatemala

In 2006 we took our first group trip to Guatemala. We took a group of 15 people down for two weeks. It was a such a success that we decided to continue offering these trips each year. Our Farmer to Farmer trips are designed to be very affordable and to give people the opportunity to experience Guatemala in a very personal way. We spend the majority of our time in Santiago Atitlan visiting families and working on various projects, picking coffee and sightseeing. Some of the projects we have worked on in the past include; working on the weaving center, painting, organizing supplies and building at the Hospitalito (small hospital in Santiago). We also visit other towns including the beautiful Spanish colonial town of Antigua. There is also the opportunity to study Spanish.

In January 08 due to increased violence in Santiago Atitlan, we canceled our trip. The increased violence in Santiago has subsided and we hope to take another group in January 09.

Watch our website for more information on upcoming trips.
